Abstract:Objective To analyze the role of Qingdao community-based organizations (CBO) accompanying treatment model in the rapid initiation of antiretroviral therapy (ART) for HIV/AIDS patients of men who had sex with men(MSM), providing reference for subsequent related work and policy formulation. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted to evaluate ART effects based on the collected baseline and post-antiviral treatment data of HIV infected persons and AIDS patients (HIV/AIDS patients) receiving escorted services by CBO in Qingdao in 2019. ART effect was evaluated. Results A total of 150 cases was enrolled. The average administration days were 3(1,6) days. The CD4+T lymphocyte counts were 412.3 (376.0-450.0), 603.8 (549.6-666.9) and 613.2 (558.6-666.9)/μl, respectively at baseline and after 6 and 12 months of treatment. There were significant differences in them among the three time points (P<0.01). Compared with other ART methods, the rate of 7-day oral administration was significantly increased, the number of days medication was significantly reduced and the rate of antiviral treatment, detection of CD4+ T lymphocyte and detection rate of virus load were significantly increased at 6 and 12 months of treatment for the patients with escorted services by CBO (P<0.01）. ConclusionThe escorted services by CBO is helpful to shorten the start time of ART and improve the therapeutic qualities, medication maintenance and quality of life of MSM-HIV infected/AIDS patients.
