Abstract:Objective To investigate the association of coping style with anxiety and depression in patients with clinical insomnia. Methods Convenience sampling method was used to select 130 patients with insomnia from a third-grade class-A hospital in Dalian as study subjects.The general data questionnaire,Chinese version of insomnia severity index(ISI-C),Simplified coping style questionnaire(SCSQ),Beck depression inventory(BDI) and the Beck anxiety inventory(BAI)were used to investigate the patient′s status. Results ISI-C score of insomnia patients was 17.52±4.53.The positive coping SCSQ and negative coping SCSQ scores were 8.96±6.54 and 9.98±3.73,respectively.BAI score was 22.73±8.90,and BDI score was 24.04±10.18.Positive coping was negatively correlated with anxiety and depression(r=-0.19,P<0.05;r=-0.21,P<0.05).Negative coping was positively correlated with anxiety and depression (r=0.25,P<0.05;r=0.35,P<0.05). Conclusions In clinical insomnia patients,the severity of insomnia is at mild to moderate level.Active coping can reduce the occurrence of anxiety and depression.Medical staff should pay attention to the insomnia symptoms and take corresponding measures to alleviate their symptoms,so as to improve the anxiety and depression of patients and promote the recovery of the disease.
