Abstract:This article summarizes the experience of Professor Qiu Heming has for the treatment of blood diseases by using couplet medicines. Professor Qiu Heming has confirmed that “if the liver doesnt collect blood, blood diseases will arise”, and has proposed four methods of curing liver like cleaning, dredging, pacificating and nourishing, as well as treatments from liver, kidney and fire. With the help of syndrome treatment and differentiation, Professor Qiu has rich experience and unique insights in treating blood disorders by using couplet medicines. This paper mainly explains the clinical experiences of eight groups of commonly used couplet medicines, namely, including Agrimoniae Herba (Xianhecao)- Melastoma dodecandrum (Diren), Dioscoreae Rhizoma (Shanyao)- Rehmanniae Radix (Dihuang)- Corni Fructus (Shanzhuyu), Testudinis Carapacis ET Plastri Colla (Guibanjiao)- Cervicornus Colla (Lujiaojiao) /Cervi Cornu Degelatinatum (Lujiaoshuang), Lycii Fructus (Gouqizi)- Cuscute Semen (Tusizi), Ligustri Lucidi Fructus (Nyuzhenzi)- Ecliptae Herba (Mohanlian), 〖JP2〗Prunellae Spica (Xiakucao)- Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus (Zhebeimu), Hordei Fructus Germinatus (Maiya)- Oryzae Fructus Germinatus (Daoya), Schizonepetae Herba (Jingjie)-Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng)- Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao), in order to guide the clinical prescriptions.
