Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of acupuncture combined with enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS) on intestinal function recovery after colorectal cancer surgery. Methods 78 patients with colorectal cancer who received surgical treatment in Shandong Qingdao Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine Hospital from January 2019 to May 2022 were selected. Among them, 42 patients who received ERAS intervention were in the control group, and 36 patients who received ERAS+ acupuncture treatment were in the observation group. The time of first exhaust, first defecation, first eating and hospitalization were compared between the two groups. The levels of motilin and gastrin before and 5 days after operation and the incidence of postoperative complications were compared. Results The first exhaust time and the first defecation time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). The levels of motilin and gastrin in the two groups 5 days after operation were lower than those before operation, and those in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05). The total complication rate in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (5.56% vs 21.4%, P＜0.05).Conclusion ERAS combined with acupuncture can improve the secretion of gastrointestinal hormones and accelerate the recovery of intestinal function after colorectal cancer surgery.
