Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of nibbling stage debridement combined with vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) therapy for necrotizing fasciitis sepsis. Methods The data of patients with necrotizing fasciitis sepsis admitted to the Vascular Surgery Department of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine from June 2017 to March 2023 were retrospectively studied. On the basis of infection control and internal environment stability, staged debridement and repair (including direct suture repair in 6 cases, skin grafting healing in 1 case and dressing change healing in 3 cases) combined with wound VAC treatment performed according to the wound conditions of the patients. Results Of the 10 patients, 2 patients underwent 5 surgeries, 4 patients underwent 13, 8, 7 and 4 surgeries respectively, and the remaining 4 patients underwent 3 surgeries. All 10 patients were successfully discharged with organ function recovered, vital signs stabilized and wound healed well. Conclusion The concept of nibbling stage debridement combined with VAC is an ideal treatment plan for patients with necrotizing fasciitis sepsis.
