Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of ¹²⁵I radioactive seeds implantation combined with chemotherapy on recurrent cervical cancer. Methods Ninety-five patients with recurrent cervical cancer treated in Huangshi Central Hospital from January 2015 to December 2019 were selected and were divided into experiment group (n=50) and control group (n=45) according to the different treatment methods. The sequential chemotherapy of paclitaxel and cisplatin was given in control group, and Seven days after completing four courses of chemotherapy (4×21 d),¹²⁵I radioactive seeds implantation combined with chemotherapy was conducted in experimental group. On 30 days after the implantation of ¹²⁵I seeds in experimental group, the clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated and compared, and the improvement of physical strength, body mass, pain sensation, quality-of-life core questionnaire (QLQ-C30) and the incidence of complications were analyzed. Results The total effective rate and the local control rate in experiment group were significantly higher than those in control group (P＜0.05). The improvement of physical strength, body mass and pain in experiment group were significantly better than those in control group (P＜0.01). After treatment, the scores of QLQ-C30 were significantly superior to those before treatment in both groups and were better in experiment group than those in control group (P＜0.01). The incidences of radiation dermatitis, bone marrow suppression and gastrointestinal reaction in experimental group were significantly lower than those in control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion ¹²⁵I radioactive seeds implantation combined with chemotherapy can significantly improve the therapeutic efficacy and the quality of life and reduce the incidence of complications in the patients with recurrent cervical cancer.
