Abstract:Objective To study the complications associated with permanent pacemaker implantation and the related influencing factors to provide reference for clinical prevention and treatment. Methods A total of 212 patients (including 32 patients undergoing pacemaker replacement)receiving permanent pacemaker implantation from January 2012 to December 2014 were selected, on whom the clinical data were retrospectively analyzed for the causes, treatment methods and preventive measures of complications. Results Out of 21 patients with complications (9. 9%), 6 cases occurred during intraoperative surgery (4 patients with mis punctured into subclacical artery, 2 patients with pneumothorax), 15 cases occurring after operation (1 patient with broken pacemaker sac, 7 patients with hematoma of capsular bag), electrode-related complication was found in 1 case (rupture of pacemaker wire), pacemaker-related complication were found in 2 cases (1 case of pacing syndrome, 1 case of tachycardia). Conclusions To reduce the risk of cardiac pacemaker complications and play the greatest therapeutic benefits, it is necessary to improve the ability identifying the complications of cardiac pacemaker implantation, strengthen preoperative prevention, standardize operation, pay attention to follow-up and strengthen related knowledge education.
